Woah!  This looks quite different from what I'm used to seeing from you!  
I REALLY like it.  He has really great form here, and I love the shading, it's superb here!  The highlights on his hair imply hair without being too complicated.  The shadow shapes across his face are really well done.  I also love how you drew the eyelids here... it makes the style look really believable!
